Bekasi Post Office busy

BEKASI, West Java (JP): The number of letters sent from the Bekasi regency has risen to about 500,000 during the first two weeks of December.

Usually only about 250,000 letters are sent from Bekasi over a two-week period. "The increase relates to the flow of seasonal greetings," said Azhar Sohirum, head of the Bekasi Post Office.

He said yesterday that one million letters have been mailed to Bekasi during the same period, adding that the post office's staff of 175 have been working extra hard, day and night, this month.

"Some employees have postponed their annual leave," he added. (12/sur)
