Bekasi Deputy Mayor Inaugurates SPKLU at SMB, Supporting Environmentally Friendly Energy Transition
The Bekasi City Government continues to demonstrate its commitment to supporting an environmentally friendly energy transition. This is marked by the presence of Deputy Mayor of Bekasi, Abdul Haris Bobihoe, at the inauguration of the Ultra Fast Charging Public Electric Vehicle Station (SPKLU) in the western parking area of Summarecon Mall Bekasi (SMB) on Wednesday (1/4/2026). The SPKLU has a large capacity distributed across Indonesia, reaching 2.7 Mega Volt Ampere (MVA). The presence of this facility is expected to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles in the Bekasi area and surrounding regions. This inauguration also forms part of strategic steps to strengthen supporting infrastructure for electric vehicles. Thus, the public now has easier and faster access to charge their electric vehicles. The event was attended by several important figures from various sectors, including SMB Center Director Ugi Cahyono, Chairman of the Oil, Gas, and Renewable Energy Sector Hansen Setiawan, and Director of Distribution of PT PLN (Persero) Arsyadany Ghana Akmalaputri. Also present were Director of Commerce PT PLN (Persero) Adi Priyanto, members of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) of Bekasi City, and other invited guests who witnessed this important moment. The presence of these stakeholders demonstrates strong synergy between local government, the private sector, and state-owned enterprises in supporting the development of clean energy in Indonesia. On that occasion, the Deputy Mayor of Bekasi expressed appreciation for the realisation of the Ultra Fast Charging SPKLU facility in Bekasi City. He assessed that the construction of this infrastructure is a concrete step in addressing climate change challenges as well as future transportation needs. “The Bekasi City Government welcomes the presence of this Ultra Fast Charging SPKLU as part of joint efforts to encourage the use of electric vehicles among the public,” he stated. Haris hopes that this facility will not only serve as a symbol of technological progress but also provide real impact on reducing carbon emissions in urban areas. “With this facility, we hope the public will become more confident in switching to more environmentally friendly electric vehicles,” emphasised the Deputy Mayor. Meanwhile, PT PLN (Persero) reaffirmed its commitment to continue expanding the SPKLU network in various regions. This step is considered important to support the government’s targets in accelerating the national electric vehicle ecosystem. With the inauguration of the Ultra Fast Charging SPKLU at SMB, Bekasi City is now increasingly ready to become part of the clean energy transformation. In the future, cross-sector collaboration is expected to be further strengthened to create a more sustainable environment.
