Bekasi — The Bekasi City Government has prepared a budget of IDR 17 billion for maintenance and repairs of numerous road sections ahead of the 2026 Eid exodus.

The budget has been allocated through the municipal budget (APBD) to ensure that road conditions throughout the city are suitable for use as public mobility increases during the exodus period.

Ridwan Muarief, Sub-Coordinator for Road Maintenance at the Bekasi City Public Works and Water Resources Office, stated that the funds are being used for routine maintenance and road repairs at various locations.

Ridwan explained that the majority of road repair work to support the smooth flow of the exodus has been completed. According to him, the work includes road reconstruction and asphalting at several strategic points.

“All road reconstruction and major repair work has been carried out. Most recently, we have done asphalting on KH Noer Ali Road towards Jakarta for the return traffic,” said Ridwan.

He added that all repair work is targeted for completion at the latest seven days before Eid al-Fitr.

“Currently, everything is finished. Our target is to complete everything by seven days before Eid,” he said.

Ridwan stated that a total of 22 road sections have been repaired to support the smooth flow of the exodus in Bekasi City. Some of the road sections repaired include I Gusti Ngurah Rai Road in Bekasi, Swatantra Road in Bekasi, KH Noer Ali Road in Bekasi, Chairil Anwar Road in Bekasi, HM Joyomartono Road in Bekasi, and Juanda Road in Bekasi.

Nevertheless, he acknowledged that there remain several small damage points on various road sections, including on HM Joyomartono Road. However, the damage is considered minor and will be promptly handled by the rapid response team.

“For remaining minor repairs, these will be carried out by the rapid response unit team from the Public Works and Water Resources Office that is on standby,” said Ridwan.

Ridwan noted that the road repair process was initially hampered by conditions of high rainfall.
