Banten has survived much tumult during its long history. Perched on the westernmost tip of Java, the area continues to display the vestiges of its rich cultural and historical greatness. It is an increasing draw for tourists who yearn to know more about a special corner of Indonesia which has seen its fortunes rise and fall, hopefully to rise again.
