Baznas RI, through its Z-Auto programme, is providing free motorcycle servicing and oil changes for 5,000 motorcycles across 43 regencies and cities in Indonesia, to help travellers during the Lebaran Eid al-Fitr exodus in 2026 stay on the road in prime condition. The ‘Free Servicing and Oil Change for 5,000 Mudik Motorbikes with Z-Auto 2026’ programme was officially launched by Noor Achmad, Chairman of Baznas RI, at the Baznas Building in Jakarta on Wednesday, 4 March. The launch marks the commencement of free servicing and oil changes, rolled out simultaneously in 43 districts and cities nationwide for the period 3-8 March 2026. Services include light servicing, oil changes, brake checks, tyre checks, electrical checks, and other light maintenance. The programme prioritises low-income communities, including mudik travellers under the mustahik category, as well as online motorcycle taxi drivers (ojol) and street motorcycle taxi drivers (ojek pangkal) who rely on motorcycles for their daily income. Noor Achmad stated that the programme reflects Baznas’ care for travellers, especially low-income groups and ojol drivers who depend on motorcycles for their livelihoods. He noted that the mudik period often brings increased household spending, causing vehicle maintenance to be delayed. A roadworthy vehicle is crucial for safety on long journeys. ‘Not everyone has funds to cover an oil change and servicing. This Baznas assistance is very helpful,’ he said. According to him, the programme is particularly needed for ojol drivers who regard motorcycles as their main source of income. With free servicing, they can continue working while preparing their vehicles for the trip. Noor Achmad also highlighted strong public enthusiasm for the programme. Of the 5,000 slots, nearly half had been filled by the time of the launch. ‘If feasible and if there is a policy at the end of Ramadan, we might expand the programme to assist mudik travellers, especially our ojol friends. In this programme we are also involving 300 mustahik trainees under Z-Auto Baznas,’ he explained. He added that the programme is being implemented simultaneously in 43 regencies and cities by collaborating with Baznas regional offices. ‘We hope this programme not only provides safety and comfort for travellers, but also becomes a source of blessings for everyone involved,’ said Noor Achmad. Saidah Sakwan, head of Baznas RI in Distribution and Utilisation, said the programme has two main benefits. First, it helps ensure the safety of travellers so they can return home safely. ‘Baznas is focused on protecting the lives of travellers, i ibnu sabil—the road-going travellers—who are on a journey to strengthen kinship, to honour their parents, to be able to greet their parents. Our part of the effort is to ensure they depart and return safely,’ she said. The second dimension, she continued, is the empowerment of Z-Auto mechanics trained by Baznas. The mechanics will still gain customers, while the servicing and oil costs are borne by Baznas. ‘Z-Auto will gain many customers to serve, but the payment comes from Baznas. So these two mustahik meet in happiness. Our trained mechanics grow their businesses, and the beneficiaries are happy because it’s free,’ she explained. One beneficiary, Narto (45), an online motorcycle taxi driver from Jelambar, West Jakarta, said he was very helped by the programme. ‘As an ojol driver I feel very helped. Z-Auto programme supports my fellow ojol drivers, especially in Jakarta. Thank you to Baznas,’ he said. (H-2)
