Basuki Affirms ASN Relocation Plan to IKN as Priority for 2026
Head of the Nusantara Capital Authority (OIKN), Basuki Hadimuljono, stated that planning and development of areas up to the relocation of civil servants (ASN) are priority activities in 2026. Basuki said these priority activities are as stated in the OIKN Strategic Plan (Renstra) for 2025-2029. “To support the development of the Nusantara Capital, it includes two priority activities, namely area development planning and ASN coaching,” said Basuki during a meeting with Commission II of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) on Monday, 30 March 2026. He explained that area planning and development activities in IKN, one of which is the spatial arrangement of the Core Government Centre Area (KIPP) and its surroundings. The target built area is 850-1,100 hectares. Other priorities include the construction of legislative and judicial office buildings; the development of decent, affordable, and sustainable household housing; and the construction of supporting facilities and infrastructure such as drinking water management systems, domestic wastewater, and waste. The development of accessibility and connectivity is also a priority activity. This aspect includes the construction of road infrastructure and underground utility networks (MUT) up to urban mass public transport services. Meanwhile, regarding the relocation of ASN, Basuki explained that in the 2026 Government Work Plan (RKP) indicators and the OIKN Renstra 2025-2029, the number of ASN relocations to IKN ranges between 1,700 and 4,100 people. On the other hand, the implementation of smart governance systems covering smart city information systems, digital ecosystem development, and licensing service systems also becomes OIKN’s first priority activity. Meanwhile, OIKN’s second priority activities for 2026 include social development, economic superhub, and environmental management. “This includes community economic empowerment, increased investment, economic superhub development, improved community welfare, forest and natural resource protection, disaster mitigation, and sustainable agricultural area development to support food security in IKN,” explained Basuki.
