Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia’s Quarantine Agency (Barantin) has stated its readiness to support the organisation of the Nusatic, Nusapet, and Nusahorti 2026 international exhibitions to accelerate the export of Indonesian animal, fish, and plant commodities.

Head of Barantin Abdul Kadir Karding said the events represent a momentum to strengthen the competitiveness of Indonesia’s biological commodities in the global market.

“The market is vast and the types are very diverse. This is an opportunity that we must promote together so that society increasingly recognises its potential, while opening up new spaces for economic growth,” Karding stated in Jakarta on Monday.

Nusatic, Nusapet, and Nusahorti 2026 are international exhibitions, with Nusatic focusing on displaying ornamental fish and aquatic contests, Nusapet on the pet industry, and Nusahorti on the plant and horticulture sectors.

The exhibitions are scheduled to take place from 12 to 14 June 2026 at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD.

Karding said Barantin plays a strategic role in regulating the movement of animals, fish, and plants while ensuring the health and safety of Indonesia’s export commodities.

According to him, guarantees of quality and health for commodities are crucial factors in opening international market access for national flagship products.

In addition to serving as platforms for promotion and trade, the events are also seen as important media for educating the public to foster interest in the fields of pets, fisheries, and horticulture.

Karding explained that growing public interest in these sectors could have a positive impact on increasing trade activities, including the export and import of healthy, safe commodities that comply with quarantine regulations.

He assessed that the horticulture sector also holds great potential for increasing Indonesia’s export value.

Therefore, he hopes that international-standard horticulture exhibitions like Nusatic, Nusapet, and Nusahorti 2026 can continue to be developed to enhance the competitiveness of national products in the global market.

As a form of support, Barantin has stated its readiness to collaborate through education and outreach on quarantine procedures for business actors, as well as facilitating efficient quarantine services to support the exhibition activities.

“Barantin fully supports the organisation of these events as a means to strengthen the national ecosystem for the animal, fish, and plant industries,” he said.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Nusatic, Nusapet, and Nusahorti 2026 Organising Committee Effendi Gazali said the events are also relevant amid global dynamics and challenges.

He assessed that the activities also have the potential to stimulate community economic growth through strengthening the animal, fish, and plant sectors.

“These events not only provide space for collaboration between communities, business actors, government, and academics, but also have great potential in fostering community economic growth,” Effendi stated.
