Barantin Continues to Boost Lampung Tapioca Exports to Penetrate Global Markets
Bandarlampung (ANTARA) - Indonesia’s Quarantine Agency (Barantin) continues to promote Lampung tapioca exports to penetrate global markets as a key driver in accelerating national trade. Based on Lampung Quarantine export data for 2025, 22,400 tonnes of tapioca from Lampung have been successfully exported to several countries such as China, New Zealand, the Philippines, and Taiwan. “We are continuously pushing this forward together with the Lampung Regional Government and related agencies in accelerating regional commodity exports,” said the Acting Deputy for Plant Quarantine in a statement received in Bandarlampung on Tuesday. Furthermore, he added, in the first quarter of 2026, Lampung has sent around 1,000 tonnes of tapioca to Malaysia and New Zealand. “Even now, 3,330 tonnes of tapioca valued at around Rp26 billion have once again penetrated the Chinese market,” he said. He stated that to support this export success, Indonesia’s Quarantine Agency plays a crucial role in ensuring product quality and safety. “Through inspection and certification processes, quarantine guarantees that the exported tapioca meets plant health standards and the requirements of the destination countries. The issued certificates serve as a quality assurance and boost international market confidence,” he said.
