Serang (ANTARA) - The Banten Provincial Manpower and Transmigration Office (Disnakertrans) is preparing several flagship programmes to enhance workforce human resources, one of which is through training at the Manpower Training Centre (BLK).

“One of the programmes we are continuously improving is training. This is tailored to the needs of the job market,” said the Head of the Banten Manpower and Transmigration Office (Disnakertrans), Septo Kalnadi, in Serang on Wednesday.

He stated that in 2026, Disnakertrans Banten will open quotas for job training at BLK with various competency trainings totalling around 600 people for the provincial programme. This figure does not include programmes from districts/cities and those from the central government.

According to Septo, in the previous year, Disnakertrans Banten organised training conducted in three batches or waves, with each wave comprising 200 people.

“There are 13 vocational fields that can be chosen in this training,” said Septo.

The trainings include vocational fields such as lathe/CNC machining, welding (SMAW/GMAW), electricity, automotive (motorcycle/car), IT, sewing, and makeup artistry.

Septo said that Disnakertrans has participated in the Coordination Meeting for the Desk Draft Regional Government Work Plan (RKPD) of Banten Province for 2027 regarding flagship programmes.

According to him, this activity is an important part of the process of compiling the direction of regional development policies, as well as a strategic forum to align priority programmes among regional apparatus to realise directed, effective, and sustainable development in Banten Province.

Furthermore, Septo stated that Disnakertrans is committed to continuing to promote flagship programmes in the fields of manpower and transmigration to align with the 2027 regional development vision, particularly in improving workforce quality, expanding job opportunities, and strengthening the competitiveness of human resources in Banten Province.

“Cross-sector synergy is the key to designing policies that have a real impact on society,” said Septo.

Meanwhile, the Provincial Secretary (Sekda) of Banten, Deden Apriandhi, urged that two main indicators in the manpower and transmigration sector in Banten Province be fulfilled. These are the increase in absorption of trained workers and the enhancement of labour protection in accordance with norms and regulations. Both are crucial strategic indicators for improving workforce quality.

“There are two main indicators that Disnakertrans must achieve, namely increasing the absorption of trained workers in the job market both domestically and abroad, and improving labour protection in accordance with applicable norms,” said Deden Apriandhi at the Banten Provincial Disnakertrans OPD Forum.

Deden said that these two indicators are mandates from the Governor and Deputy Governor of Banten as stipulated in the RPJMD 2025–2030. Although they appear simple, the challenges in achieving them require commitment from various parties. In particular, facing the evolving dynamics of the job market, which also influence the achievement of these two targets.

“Therefore, we hope for input and suggestions in this forum so that these two indicators can be achieved,” he said.

On one hand, Banten Province’s potential in the investment sector must be well captured. Especially in efforts to create job opportunities for the people of Banten.

“This is homework for all of us so that the regional government can open more employment opportunities,” he explained.

Therefore, Deden encouraged several strategic steps as efforts to improve human resource quality through training and education. Including strengthening communication with investors who will invest in Banten Province.

Regarding human resource development, he also conveyed the importance of the “link and match” concept between the world of education and the business world. Coordination with vocational high schools (SMK) and optimisation of the Industrial Manpower Training Centre (BLKI) must be integrated so that skill improvements match job market needs.

“Adjustment to job market needs is important. The link and match between schools and companies must run so that graduates are ready to be absorbed,” said Deden.
