Bank NTB Syariah will serve as the regional bank responsible for managing funds from the National Nutritional Meal Programme (MBG) implemented by the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) in the Nusa Tenggara Barat (NTB) region. The total amount of funds to be managed is IDR 5.7 trillion.

The President Director of PT Bank NTB Syariah, Nazaruddin, explained that this appointment is a follow-up to the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the BGN. Currently, the administrative process for setting up the fund management account is underway, with registration being processed at the State Treasury Service Office (KPPN) V in Jakarta.

“While state-owned banks dominate, only two regional banks have signed agreements with the BGN, namely Bank NTB Syariah and Bank Jabar,” said Nazaruddin on Thursday (February 26, 2026).

He explained that the process of opening the account for managing MBG funds is still ongoing at KPPN Jakarta. However, from a financing perspective, Bank NTB Syariah has already begun to provide support for the implementation of the MBG programme in the region.

“We have provided financing for MBG kitchens. Two kitchens have been established, and around five more are in the process of administrative approval,” he said.

The financing for MBG kitchens, according to Nazaruddin, uses a refinancing or new loan scheme. Each kitchen receives financing of approximately IDR 500 million.

“On average, they have their own funds. The total budget requirement may be up to IDR 1 billion according to the budget plan, but we finance around IDR 500 million per kitchen because they also have capital,” he said.

Furthermore, Nazaruddin mentioned that the signing of the MoU with the BGN opens up opportunities for Bank NTB Syariah to be more involved in the broader MBG ecosystem in NTB. This involvement is not limited to managing the main funds but also includes financing for suppliers.

The influx of IDR 5.7 trillion in MBG funds into NTB, he said, has the potential to boost the regional economy and can be optimized by regional banks.

“This means it becomes an ecosystem that we can work on together. From the suppliers, workers, to the kitchen managers, all have the potential for financing,” he explained.

Although he acknowledged that Bank NTB Syariah is in a following position amidst the dominance of state-owned banks, he affirmed that being one of the two regional banks that have signed an MoU with the BGN is a strategic achievement.
