Bank Muamalat's SME Financing Reaches Rp 2.9 Trillion in 2025
PT Bank Muamalat Indonesia Tbk continues to accelerate the growth of financing to the small and medium enterprise (SME) sector, also known as Usaha Mikro Kecil dan Menengah (UMKM). By December 2025, the outstanding SME financing disbursed by Bank Muamalat reached Rp 2.9 trillion, representing a 24% increase compared to the previous year. Director of Bank Muamalat Ricky Rikardo Mulyadi stated that the SME sector is highly prospective for development due to its crucial role in supporting national economic stability. Additionally, this sector offers good management or risk distribution. “For this reason, Bank Muamalat continues to strive to expand SME financing to customers. One of the ways is by optimising the owned office network and digitalisation to speed up the financing process,” said Ricky, quoted from a press release on Tuesday (12/5/2026). Ricky explained that currently Bank Muamalat has 224 branch offices, including one branch in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In addition to optimising the office network, this first pure sharia bank in Indonesia also prepares sharia financing products that are relevant to customer needs. Digitalisation of the financing process receives serious attention from Bank Muamalat to improve accessibility for prospective customers in various regions, especially those not yet reached by branch services. “We also provide competitive margins to ensure business sustainability amid market competition,” said Ricky. From the asset quality perspective, Bank Muamalat is committed to maintaining the non-performing financing (NPF) ratio at a level in accordance with regulator provisions. As of the end of 2025, the NPF ratio in the SME sector was recorded at only 0.07%. This pioneer sharia bank in the country focuses on maintaining a healthy portfolio quality in line with an acceptable risk appetite. The sectors that are the focus of SME financing disbursement at Bank Muamalat are education, hajj and umrah, as well as health.
