Bank Muamalat Targets 30% Growth in SME Sector Financing This Year
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Bank Muamalat Indonesia Tbk targets growth in financing to the small and medium enterprise (SME) sector this year to reach around 30% (year on year/yoy) compared to the 2025 realisation. As of December 2025, the outstanding SME financing disbursed by the company reached Rp2.9 trillion, growing 24% (yoy) compared to the previous year. Bank Muamalat Director Ricky Rikardo Mulyadi, in his statement in Jakarta on Tuesday, expressed optimism that the target can be achieved through several strategies. The strategies include focusing on target markets in the education, Hajj and Umrah, and healthcare ecosystems. Bank Muamalat is also optimising collaborations with all stakeholders and its networks. This approach is expected to bring innovation and increase productivity. Digitalisation aspects are continuously developed to create effectiveness and speed in the financing process. This step is accompanied by upholding principles of prudence, sharia, and humanism as important foundations for developing SME segment financing. Ricky stated that SMEs are a very prospective sector to develop because they play a crucial role in supporting national economic stability. Additionally, this sector has good management or risk distribution. “Therefore, Bank Muamalat continues to strive to expand SME financing reach to customers. One of them is by optimising the owned office network and digitalisation for financing process speed,” he said. Ricky explained that the company currently has 224 branches, including one branch in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In addition to optimising the office network, the company is also preparing relevant sharia financing products for customer needs. The company stated that digitalisation of the financing process is a serious concern to increase accessibility for prospective customers in various regions, especially those not yet reached by branch services. “We also provide competitive margins to ensure business continuity amid market competition,” said Ricky. From the asset quality side, Bank Muamalat is committed to maintaining the non-performing financing (NPF) ratio at a level in accordance with regulator provisions. As of the end of 2025, the NPF ratio in the SME sector was only recorded at 0.07%. The company ensures that it focuses on a healthy portfolio quality in line with an acceptable risk appetite, where the sectors focused on for SME financing disbursement are education, Hajj and Umrah, and healthcare.
