Bank Mega Syariah Gains New Customers and Rp709 Billion in Third-Party Funds During Ramadan
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia — PT Bank Mega Syariah (BMS) recorded an increase in customer acquisition and third-party funds (DPK) during the momentum of Ramadan 1447 H.
Based on data as of 21 March 2026, the total value of new DPK acquisitions reached more than Rp709 billion with a total of 5,600 NoA (number of accounts).
Digital Business & Product Management Division Head of Bank Mega Syariah, Benadicto Alvonzo Ferary, stated that this growth reflects the strengthening preference of customers for savings products that can optimise competitive returns without deviating from Sharia principles.
“At the same time, this trend also confirms the success of Bank Mega Syariah’s digital transformation in providing ease of transactions and a more practical account opening process that can be done online,” Benadicto explained in his statement on Monday (13/4/2026).
In terms of transactions, during the Ramadan 2026 period, the number of transactions via M-Syariah was recorded at more than 230,000 transactions with a transaction value of more than Rp243 billion, or growing more than 24% year on year (yoy). The most used features by customers during Ramadan included transfers, QRIS, and e-wallet top-ups.
QRIS transaction usage also showed significant growth. Compared to the Ramadan 2025 period, the number of QRIS transactions increased by more than 65%, while the transaction volume increased by more than 58%, indicating the wider use of QR-based non-cash payments at various merchants.
The positive performance throughout the month of Ramadan was also achieved thanks to a series of customer engagement activities carried out in various regions in Indonesia. Throughout this year’s Ramadan period, Bank Mega Syariah organised a series of Ramadan Optimal Events with Bank Mega Syariah, such as the Road To Diantara Doa Event and Gen Hajj Tausiyah at Bank Mega Syariah branches.
The Road To Diantara Doa Ramadan activity was held in seven cities, namely Surabaya, Malang, Semarang, Bandung, Lampung, Palembang, and Makassar. The activity featured inspirational studies with religious figures, collaboration with educational institutions, and community activities. This series of activities was also complemented by Bank Mega Syariah’s flagship Ramadan programme, namely AMAL 2026 (Activation of M-Syariah in the Month of Ramadan).
Benadicto stated that this series of activities aims to increase Sharia financial literacy while strengthening engagement with the community, one of which is through various communities in the country.
A community-based approach has become an important strategy to expand the penetration of banking services in daily life, such as savings, digital transactions, and financial management in accordance with Sharia principles.
“The AMAL 2026 programme becomes a strategic momentum for Bank Mega Syariah to strengthen retail market penetration through a community-based approach and spiritual engagement during the month of Ramadan.
Going forward, Bank Mega Syariah will continue to present various programmes relevant to community needs and strengthen the Sharia ecosystem through product innovation, digital services, and strategic collaborations to support sustainable business growth,” Benadicto concluded.
