Bank Jambi Hacked by Hackers, Rp143 Billion Missing
Bank Jambi is suspected of having been hacked, with losses reaching Rp143 billion. In addition, access to Bank Jambi’s services was paralysed for several days.
According to detikSumbagsel, based on information collected, the number of customers affected by the loss of funds reached 6,600 as of Sunday 22 February 2026.
‘Initial losses amount to Rp143 billion (total loss). More precisely, according to the OJK,’ said Taufik when contacted on Wednesday 4 March 2025.
The case of hacking is under investigation by the Jambi Regional Police. The President Director and senior management of Bank Jambi have been summoned for clarification.
‘Dugaan sementara (peretasan) dan masih didalami dengan proses penyelidikan,’ ujar Taufik.
Losses to customers have been gradually reimbursed by Bank Jambi. Meanwhile, neither Bank Jambi, the Financial Services Authority (OJK), nor Bank Indonesia have provided a full disclosure of total losses or the source of funds used to reimburse customers.
As of Wednesday 4 March 2026, it has been 11 days since mobile banking and ATM access were down. Bank Jambi said mobile banking and ATMs were blocked for forensic audit.
Customers thus must visit Bank Jambi branches to conduct transactions. This has led to daily long queues for cash withdrawals.
Taufik added that they are also awaiting internal forensic audit on the transaction anomalies.
‘Still being conducted by third parties (forensic audit),’ he said.
The alleged breach of Bank Jambi occurred on Sunday 22 February, causing disruptions to Bank Jambi’s mobile banking and ATM access.
