Bank Jakarta Strengthens Social Care by Distributing Assistance to 8,500 Orphans and Underprivileged Children
Bank Jakarta has distributed assistance worth 1.7 billion rupiah to 8,500 orphaned and underprivileged children. The activity forms part of the “Blessed Ramadan” programme throughout the holy month of Ramadan 1447 H/2026 M.
The assistance was symbolically presented by the Bank Jakarta Board of Directors to representatives of orphaned children from various orphanages and care homes across the administrative cities of Jakarta during an “Iftar Together with Management and Orphan Child Assistance” event held at Bank Jakarta’s head office on Thursday, 12 March 2026.
Agus H Widodo, President Director of Bank Jakarta, explained that the assistance comes from zakat and infaq donations from Bank Jakarta employees, which have been managed by the bank’s Zakat Management Unit. The distribution of assistance is carried out through foundations managing orphaned children and care homes in the administrative cities of Jakarta.
Agus also stated that the assistance provided reflects the company’s commitment to contributing to society. As a regional development bank owned by the Jakarta provincial government, he said, Bank Jakarta has the responsibility to help those in need. “Through this activity, Bank Jakarta hopes to share happiness and provide support to children in need, particularly in the blessed month of Ramadan,” said Agus.
On the same occasion, Ateng Rivai, Director of Compliance at Bank Jakarta, stated that the distribution of assistance represents gratitude for Bank Jakarta’s achievements, as the bank will celebrate its 65th anniversary in April 2026. “For us, the distribution of this assistance is an expression of our gratitude for everything we have experienced in our journey to become an increasingly good bank in serving,” he added.
Arie Rinaldi, Corporate Secretary of Bank Jakarta, stated that the assistance distribution activity is an annual routine conducted every Ramadan. “Through the distribution of assistance to orphaned and underprivileged children, Bank Jakarta can further establish closer ties with the community,” said Arie.
As part of Ramadan activities, particularly during the Lebaran homecoming period, Bank Jakarta has established a Mudik Assistance Post at the Rest Area at kilometre 429 Semarang from 14 to 20 March 2026.
