Bank Jakarta Provides Aid to Orphans and the Needy, Establishes Mudik Rest Stop
Jakarta – Bank Jakarta has distributed aid worth Rp1.7 billion to 8,500 orphans and members of the poor and marginalised communities, and has established a Mudik Rest Stop at Rest Area KM 429 Semarang from 14-20 March 2026.
The aid was presented symbolically by Bank Jakarta’s board of directors to representatives of orphaned children from several orphanage foundations across five administrative areas of Jakarta.
Bank Jakarta Chief Executive Officer Agus H Widodo stated on Friday that the assistance provided came from zakat and infaq contributions from Bank Jakarta employees. These funds are managed through Bank Jakarta’s Zakat Management Unit (UPZ) and are then channelled through foundations that care for orphans and orphanages in the capital.
According to Agus, this activity represents the company’s social responsibility towards those in need, particularly during the month of Ramadan, which is synonymous with the spirit of sharing. “Through this activity, Bank Jakarta hopes to share joy whilst providing support to children in need, especially during the blessed month of Ramadan,” said Agus.
Beyond providing aid, Bank Jakarta has also prepared services for those travelling home for Lebaran by establishing the Mudik Rest Stop at Rest Area KM 429 Semarang from 14-20 March 2026. The rest stop serves as a stopping point for travellers using the main route to various destinations on Java Island.
At the rest stop, travellers can rest briefly whilst taking advantage of various facilities provided, including a comfortable rest area, massage chairs, free Wi-Fi access, and mobile phone charging facilities. Bank Jakarta is also offering various promotions and programmes for people who stop at the rest stop, ranging from special souvenirs for customers who open new accounts to cashback programmes for transactions using QRIS through the JakOne Mobile Bank Jakarta application.
