Jakarta — Bank Indonesia Governor Perry Warjiyo reported that digital payment transaction volume grew 40.35 per cent year-on-year in February 2026.

Digital payment transactions reached 4.67 billion transactions in February 2026, representing 40.35 per cent year-on-year growth, supported by the expansion of digital payment acceptance, Warjiyo said during a press conference on the results of the Bank Indonesia Board of Governors meeting held virtually in Jakarta on Tuesday.

Growth in digital economic and financial transactions in February 2026 remained robust, underpinned by a safe, smooth, and reliable payment system.

Transaction volume through mobile applications and the internet each grew 9.49 per cent and 22.16 per cent year-on-year respectively, including Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) transactions, which continued to record strong growth of 133.2 per cent year-on-year. This positive performance was supported by increased numbers of users and merchants.

From an infrastructure perspective, retail transaction volume processed through BI-FAST reached 434 million transactions, growing 31.49 per cent year-on-year with transaction value reaching Rp1.092 trillion in February 2026.

Meanwhile, large-value transaction volume processed through the Bank Indonesia Real Time Gross Settlement (BI-RTGS) system was recorded at 0.76 million transactions, declining 5.33 per cent year-on-year, whilst BI-RTGS transaction value continued to grow 9.19 per cent year-on-year, reaching Rp16.105 trillion in February 2026.

“In terms of rupiah currency management, Circulating Currency Outstanding (CCO) grew 15.78 per cent year-on-year to Rp1.287 trillion in February 2026,” Warjiyo said.
