Bank DKI opens new office

JAKARTA: City-owned Bank DKI has opened a new subbranch office
on Jl. Panglima Polim in South Jakarta on Friday as part of its
effort to upgrade services to customers in the southern part of
the capital.

"We are targeting to net more customers from at least 640
companies operating in the area that employ more than 6,400
workers," said the bank's president director Hasan Soeftendy.

In the past five years, the bank has managed to collect funds
from the public of up to Rp 1.2 trillion (US$130.34 million) as
of December last year from only Rp 350 billion in 2000.

"This year, we expect to raise funds from the public totaling
Rp 1.4 trillion," Hasan added.

The bank reported that it managed to double its assets over
the past five years to Rp 6.9 trillion in 2004, from a base of
only Rp 3.2 trillion in 2000.

The bank now has 12 branch offices, 26 subbranch offices, 45
cash offices, and eight payment centers. --JP
