Bank BSN Partners with MBC to Develop Gold-Based Financial Ecosystem
Yogyakarta (ANTARA) — PT Bank Syariah Nasional (Bank BSN) has partnered with PT Mentari Bayt Coin (MBC) to develop a gold-based financial ecosystem in accordance with Sharia principles, including the provision of gold products and buyback mechanisms.
The collaboration was formalised through the signing of a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) during the Grand Launching of MBC Gold in Yogyakarta on Saturday (19/09/2026).
Bank BSN President Director Alex Sofjan Noor stated that this collaboration is part of the company’s strategy to expand gold-based services while strengthening the Sharia financial ecosystem.
“The collaboration with Mentari Bayt Coin opens opportunities to present alternative gold-based products and services that complement the community’s needs in managing their finances according to Sharia principles,” said Alex.
Under this agreement, MBC will provide Mentari Bayt Coin gold bars to Bank BSN with a purity level of 99.99 per cent, certified by the Indonesian National Standard (SNI). The gold will be available in denominations ranging from 1 gram to 100 grams, as well as custom weights according to Bank BSN’s requirements.
Transactions between the two companies will also be supported by MBC’s integrated digital portal. Through this platform, Bank BSN can monitor gold prices in real-time, issue purchase orders (PO), process payments, track shipments, and validate product authenticity via QR code scanning.
Alex noted that gold still holds great potential for development within the Sharia financial industry, as it has long been used by the public as an instrument to preserve asset value.
“The collaboration between the Sharia banking industry and gold business players has vast development potential, especially when supported by increasingly integrated ecosystems and services,” he added.
Meanwhile, MBC President Director Jebul Suroso stated that MBC’s gold business development rests on three main pillars: direct sales, gold instalments, and gold savings. This model is also intended to be synergised with various Muhammadiyah Business Entities (AUM).
“MBC’s gold business can be synergised with our AUMs, whether in the fields of education, health, or others. It can be applied to various aspects, including savings, retirement funds, or other needs,” said Jebut.
The signing ceremony was also attended by the General Chairman of PP Muhammadiyah Haedar Nashir, the Chairman of the Diklitbang Council of PP Muhammadiyah Bambang Setiaji, several Rectors of Muhammadiyah and ’Aisyiyah Universities (PTMA), and other strategic partners.
