Bank BRI Transports 12,352 Mudik Travellers with 238 Buses
PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, or BRI, continues to support the smooth flow of Lebaran 2026 mudik travel. This support is demonstrated through participation in the 2026 BUMN Free Mudik Programme ‘Safe Mudik, Sharing Hope’, organised by the State-Owned Enterprises Regulatory Agency (BP BUMN).
The ceremonial departure of mudik travellers under the 2026 BUMN Free Mudik Programme took place at Stadion GBK in Jakarta on Tuesday (17/03). The event was held simultaneously at various mudik departure points in the Jabodetabek area. In the event, BRI transported 5,050 mudik travellers taking Lebaran 2026 leave, with 101 buses prepared.
Present at the 2026 BUMN Free Mudik ceremony were the Head of BP BUMN Dony Oskaria, Deputy Head of BP BUMN Teddy Barata, Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, Head of the Indonesian National Police Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas Polri) Inspector General of Police Agus Suryonugroho, BRI Deputy Director Viviana Dyah Ayu Retno Kumalasari, BRI Micro Director Akhmad Purwakajaya, and other directors of state-owned enterprises.
The 2026 BUMN Free Mudik Programme ‘Safe Mudik, Sharing Hope’ involves 96 state-owned enterprises and their subsidiaries. This mudik uses three main modes of transport: bus, train, and sea vessel, successfully transporting 116,668 mudik travellers covering journeys to more than 200 cities and regencies across Indonesia.
Dony Oskaria stated that the BUMN Free Mudik Programme is a tangible manifestation of state-owned enterprises’ commitment to be present and provide direct benefits to the community, especially during important moments like Eid al-Fitr. Through this programme, the state, via state-owned enterprises, helps the community realise safer and more comfortable mudik journeys.
“The BUMN Free Mudik Programme is a manifestation of gotong royong and state-owned enterprises’ care for the community. We want to ensure that the community can undertake mudik journeys more safely, comfortably, and without incident, while also helping to reduce traffic density during the Lebaran period,” said Dony in a written statement on Thursday (19/3/2026).
Meanwhile, BRI Corporate Secretary Dhanny revealed that as part of Danantara, BRI plays a role in supporting the implementation of the 2026 BUMN Free Mudik by providing safe and standard bus transport. The programme aims to help reduce traffic congestion and the use of private vehicles so that Lebaran 2026 mudik can run smoothly.
In this programme, BRI provides free mudik with routes from Jakarta to Yogyakarta (via Southern Route), Jakarta to Wonogiri (via Northern Route), and Jakarta to Surabaya (via Trans-Java Toll Road). BRI also ensures that this programme not only offers cost-free transport facilities but is also designed with attention to passenger safety and comfort standards.
“This is BRI’s real commitment to supporting safe and comfortable mudik journeys to the destination. We release the mudik travellers with the hope that the journey goes smoothly and they arrive at their destination to celebrate Lebaran with their beloved families,” he said.
Dhanny added that, besides the 2026 BUMN Free Mudik Programme, BRI also provides other mudik programmes with very high enthusiasm from the community. Overall, this year BRI has transported 12,352 mudik travellers with 238 bus fleets.
To support the implementation of the 2026 BUMN Free Mudik, BRI also provides BRImo Mudik Posts 2026 at five rest areas on the Jakarta-Java toll road route. These locations are at Rest Area KM 57 (Jakarta-Cikampek toll road section), Rest Area KM 228 (Jakarta-Central Java toll road section), and Rest Area KM 429 (Semarang-Solo toll road section). Additionally, posts are available at Rest Area KM 97 (Cipularang toll road from Bandung-Jakarta) and Rest Area KM 752 (Jombang-Mojokerto toll road section) for the return flow.
“At each BRImo Mudik Post, we provide various services such as medical services from health personnel, entertainment services for mudik travellers, massage chair services, cheap redemption for takjil, and various attractive promotions during the period. The hope is that the Mudik Posts become rest stops for mudik travellers on long journeys, so they can recover before continuing their trip,” Dhanny added.
He emphasised that BRI continues to collaborate and work with various parties to support government efforts in successfully implementing the Lebaran 2026 mudik and return flow.
“We hope to continue being part of the Indonesian community’s journey in celebrating Eid al-Fitr with their beloved families, while strengthening the company’s role as a trusted partner in every phase of community life,” he asserted.
