Bank Bali ad

From Pelita

As a lawyer, I am astonished to hear an advertisement aired by
some private radio stations. The ad, about Bank Bali's Serba Guna
credit card, is insulting to the profession of public prosecutors
as agents of law enforcement.

In the ad, a public prosecutor in a court trial asks a
defendant why he does not use Bank Bali's credit card but
instead, the credit card of another bank. The prosecutor
furiously urges the defendant to take note of it.

In the concluding part of the ad another man mentions the
additional merit of the credit card of Bank Bali. How come?
Why should the profession of the prosecutors be disgraced in such
a manner only to promote a product of a certain bank? It is true
that advertisements are vital for the promotion of business but
they should be done in an ethically and morally acceptable
fashion.

I hope that the airing of that ad is terminated. The
authorities should do something about it.
