Bangka Belitung Offers Tin Downstream Investment Opportunities to Chinese Investors
Pangkalpinang (ANTARA) - The Bangka Belitung Islands Provincial Government has offered investment opportunities in tin downstream products to Chinese investors, aimed at driving economic growth and community welfare in the region.
"We very much hope that Chinese investors will be interested in investing in this region," said Acting Regional Secretary of Bangka Belitung Ferry Afryanto after presenting a number of potential opportunities and planned investment locations to Chinese investors in Pangkalpinang on Wednesday.
He said Bangka Belitung is an archipelagic province surrounded by sea with abundant natural resources, not only in terms of tin mining but also possessing natural beauty, tourism potential and other assets. This is evident from its geography as an island region surrounded by ocean.
"Regarding tin management, we in the government very much hope it can be processed into finished products or downstream products, and we are ready to collaborate," he said.
He stated that in managing tin, investors must naturally pay attention to the environment, both on land and at sea, given that tin mineral processing involves many constituent elements.
"Tin ore contains many associated minerals, such as rare earth elements, monazite, xenotime, zircon, ilmenite and others," he said.
Meanwhile, Mr Yu Jianguo, speaking through an interpreter, explained that his company operates in the biological sector through reclamation programmes that have been carried out in China. In addition, there are also power plant construction projects.
His company welcomed the prospect of cooperation and collaboration with the government, both at the central and regional levels. The company will consider what factors would support the establishment of downstream processing in Bumi Serumpun Sebalai.
