Bandung Railway Operations: 345,000 Eid Holiday Tickets Sold
Bandung, West Java — PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Operations Area (Daop) 2 Bandung, West Java, has recorded 233,872 tickets sold, representing 67.6 per cent of the total 345,840 seats provided during the 2026 Eid holiday transport period, as of 12 March 2026.
Operations Director Awan Hermawan Purwadinata at Bandung Station Complex, West Java, on Friday revealed strong public enthusiasm for booking homecoming tickets is also evident in KAI’s 30 per cent discount promotional programme, with 54,462 promotional tickets sold out.
He explained that KAI Daop 2 Bandung averages 15,720 seats per day over 22 days of the Eid holiday transport period, running from 11 March to 1 April 2026.
This capacity is fulfilled through 28 train journeys per day, comprising 24 regular trains and four additional trains: two Lodaya Additional train sets, the Additional Kiaracondong-Surabaya Gubeng service, and the Additional Kutojaya Selatan service.
Several routes have recorded the highest sales levels and continue to attract homebound travellers during the 2026 Eid period, including the Kahuripan, Additional Kiaracondong-Surabaya Gubeng, Cikuray, Kutojaya Selatan, Malabar and Harina trains.
The high sales figures on these routes, he noted, confirm that rail has become the preferred transport mode.
In response to the massive passenger movement, Awan assured that the reliability of facilities and services across 54 stations in the Daop 2 region would operate optimally, coinciding with a mobilisation parade held at Bandung Station on Friday.
“Through the 2026 Eid Holiday Transport Command Post, KAI reaffirms its full readiness to serve customers who will celebrate Eid al-Fitr 2026 with their families. All KAI personnel are committed to providing the best service so that journeys run safely, comfortably and on time, creating a ‘Comfortable Eid Together’,” said Awan.
To ease customers amidst the heavy passenger flow, KAI Daop 2 Bandung has also deployed ticket cancellation services at five stations.
Additionally, facial recognition facilities at Bandung and Kiaracondong stations are being optimised to reduce queuing time during passenger boarding procedures.
