Bandung (ANTARA) - The Class I TPI Immigration Office in Bandung has taken firm action by deporting 21 foreign nationals (WNA) who were apprehended during the joint “Wirawaspada” operation conducted in Subang Regency, West Java.

According to information from the Bandung Immigration Office in Bandung on Friday, this immigration administrative action targeted foreign nationals proven to have misused residence permits and suspected of being fictitious investors that damage the investment climate in Indonesia.

The operation, which took place in the Cipendeuy and Cipunagara areas, is part of a simultaneous national movement to safeguard national stability and security.

“The results of the examination from the Wirawaspada operation revealed 18 foreigners to whom we issued warning letters and requested to correct their permit documents. We also found 21 foreigners suspected of misusing residence permits, so further examinations were conducted and they have been subjected to Immigration Administrative Actions in the form of deportation,” said Novyandri.

Novyandri detailed that of the 21 foreign nationals expelled from Indonesian territory, 20 are citizens of the People’s Republic of China (RRT) and one is a Vietnamese national. Meanwhile, the 18 who received warning letters consist of 17 Chinese nationals and one Vietnamese national.

“Foreigners proven to have committed violations will be subject to sanctions up to deportation. Through this firm action, it is hoped to create a deterrent effect and increase foreigners’ compliance with immigration regulations,” he stated.

The Wirawaspada 2026 operation is a follow-up to instructions from the Directorate of Immigration Supervision and Enforcement to anticipate the misuse of residence permits and overstays.
