Bandung City Government Implements WFH First, Public Services Continue to Operate
Bandung City Government (Pemkot Bandung) has begun implementing work from home (WFH) for civil servants (ASN) on Friday (10/4/2026). However, services directly related to the public continue to operate, such as at the Bandung City Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda) office.
Observations show that the courtyard of Bandung City Hall, usually filled with four-wheeled and two-wheeled vehicles, appeared empty. Only a small number of two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles were parked.
Meanwhile, several buildings in the Bandung City Hall complex appeared empty. However, public-facing services continue to run, such as at Bapenda.
One visitor, Fauzan (30 years old), said he was handling documents at the Bandung City Bapenda office. He felt that services were still running amid the WFH policy.
“Services at Bapenda are still operating; hopefully there are no disruptions despite the WFH,” he said when met in the Bapenda office courtyard, Bandung, on Friday (10/4/2026).
Meanwhile, the Head of Bandung City Bapenda, Gun Gun Sumaryana, said services continue to operate in the office even though tax payments are now conducted online. Several services and information are already using applications.
“Alhamdulillah, services are still running,” he stated.
Bandung Mayor M Farhan said the WFH policy is already in place and has reached 60 percent implementation. He noted that the policy does not apply to all departments, especially those related to direct public services. Meanwhile, leaders, from sub-district heads to village heads, continue to monitor on the ground.
