Bandung City Government: 83.8 Percent of Residents Satisfied with Education Services
Bandung City (ANTARA) - The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) has recorded a public satisfaction rate of 83.8 percent with education services, based on a Kompas Litbang survey from 23 February to 3 March 2026.
Mayor of Bandung Muhammad Farhan stressed that the education sector will remain a priority in development.
Farhan stated that this positions education as one of the highest-rated public services, while also showing that various improvement programmes are being directly felt by the community.
These changes are evident in enhancements to classroom spaces, teaching methods, and attention to non-academic aspects, such as character education and students’ mental health.
In the past year, Pemkot Bandung has strengthened school operational support through the Regional School Operational Assistance (Bosda) programme.
“This programme is utilised to support schools’ basic needs and improve learning quality,” he said.
In terms of infrastructure, throughout 2025, construction of seven new primary school classrooms, rehabilitation of 260 classrooms, repairs to 87 toilets, provision of 10 bore wells, and boundary wall construction at four schools were carried out.
For junior secondary level, strengthening was achieved through the construction of one new school unit, addition of 16 classrooms, rehabilitation of 78 classrooms, repairs to 29 toilets, and provision of two prayer rooms.
“We want to ensure every school has the capacity to develop, from classroom conditions to learning quality,” he said.
On the other hand, access to education has been expanded through assistance for students from vulnerable families, reaching around 8,379 primary school pupils and 14,545 junior secondary pupils.
Farhan affirmed that strengthening the education sector will continue to focus on matters that have the most direct impact on students.
“Especially on the quality of the learning process in the classroom, equitable school conditions, and more comprehensive support for student development,” he said.
