Bamsoet Urges KBPP Polri to Maintain National Stability and Security
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Member of the Indonesian Parliament, Bambang Soesatyo (Bamsoet), has encouraged the Keluarga Besar Putra-Putri (KBPP) Polri to strengthen its role as a strategic partner in maintaining national stability and security.
According to Bamsoet, the existence of KBPP Polri as a community organization with strong roots in national values is increasingly relevant in the face of increasingly complex social challenges, ranging from the increasing threat of cybercrime, the spread of radical ideologies through digital spaces, to the dynamics of social conflict due to global economic pressures.
“KBPP Polri must appear as a social force that is able to maintain unity, strengthen community resilience, and become a bridge between the people and state institutions,” said Bamsoet in a statement after attending the 6th National Conference (Munas) of KBPP Polri in Jakarta, Friday.
According to him, in the current situation of global uncertainty, organizational solidarity is an important factor in keeping Indonesia safe, secure, and productive.
The Chairman of the MPR RI for the period 2019-2024, mentioned that the relatively conducive national security situation throughout 2025 is an important asset for the sustainability of national development and economic growth.
Bamsoet explained that current national security challenges have changed very rapidly. Threats are no longer always in the form of physical conflict, but rather the infiltration of extreme ideologies through social media, the spread of divisive hoaxes, to the increasing practice of thuggery that disrupts investment stability and community life.
He quoted data from the Indonesian National Police which showed that throughout 2025, the police handled more than 325,000 cases of crime with a case resolution rate of 76.22 percent.
On the other hand, the Densus 88 anti-terror squad has also succeeded in maintaining a zero terrorist attack status for three consecutive years through a measured approach of prevention and law enforcement.
“National security cannot be entirely burdened on state apparatus. It requires the active participation of civil society, which is organized and has a strong national commitment,” he said.
He continued, “KBPP Polri has a strategic position because it was born from a tradition of service and discipline that is inherent in the extended family of the Indonesian National Police.”
Conversely, according to him, without strong guidance, the digital space can become a fertile ground for the spread of intolerance, provocation, and new forms of crime. The phenomenon of increasing radical propaganda through social media targeting young people is a serious warning for all elements of the nation.
“Young people must be involved in concrete national movements. KBPP Polri must actively be present in the community through character education, digital literacy, social activities, and strengthening national insight,” he said.
Bamsoet, who is also the Head of the National Defense Agency of FKPPI and Deputy Chairman of Pemuda Pancasila, also highlighted the importance of strengthening collaboration between community organizations and state institutions in maintaining social order.
According to him, experiences in various regions show that synergy between security forces and community elements can prevent social conflicts from developing into larger security disturbances.
In several national security events, he said, community organizations were also involved to maintain stability and social harmony in their respective environments.
He added that KBPP Polri must be an example of an organization that prioritizes dialogue, mutual assistance, and maturity in democratic life.
“This nation needs social glue that can maintain balance in the midst of strong polarization due to political contests and global economic pressures,” said Bamsoet.
The opening of the 6th National Conference of KBPP Polri was also attended by the Head of the National Police Security Agency, Police Commissioner General Karyoto, the Coordinator of Social Relations of the National Police Security Agency, Police Inspector General Kalingga Rendra, the General Chairman of KBPP Polri, Evita Nursanty, the Advisory Board of KBPP Polri, Police Commissioner General (retired) Adang Daradjatun, and the Steering Board of KBPP Polri, Police Commissioner General (retired) M. Nurdin.
