Bali's Saber Pangan Task Force Conducts Surprise Inspections at Traditional Markets to Modern Retail
The Bali Food Clean Sweep Task Force (Satgas Saber Pangan Bali) once again descended on traditional markets, modern retail outlets, and distributors to carry out surprise inspections (sidak) on Friday (3/4/2026). The inspections were conducted as an effort to stabilise the prices of 14 essential staple commodities (bapokting) for the community.
The Bali Saber Pangan Task Force team consists of the Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimsus) of the Bali Provincial Police (Polda Bali), the Bali Agriculture and Food Security Office (Distanpangan Bali), the Bali Industry and Trade Office (Disperindag Bali), the Bali Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Office (PMPTSP Bali), the Regional Office of the Public Logistics Agency (Perum Bulog Kanwil Bali), and the National Food Agency (Bapanas).
The inspections were carried out at Pasar Kreneng, Denpasar. The Bali Saber Pangan Task Force team checked several shops in the market, namely Toko Kamila, a beef and chicken cutting shop, and Warung Bumbu Ibu Gek Sri. Inspections were also conducted at the distributor UD Sari Limo on Jalan Raya Gatot Subroto (Gatsu) as well as the modern retail supermarket Bintang on Jalan Hayam Wuruk, Denpasar.
The Head of Public Relations Division (Kabid Humas) of Polda Bali, Kombes Ariasandy, stated that this supervision is a step to maintain price affordability and ensure the quality of food ingredients for the community. “Preliminary monitoring results show that prices are relatively stable and supplies are sufficient, so the public does not need to worry about spikes in staple commodity prices,” Ariasandy said.
Preliminary monitoring results indicate that food commodity prices in Bali, particularly in Denpasar, remain relatively stable with supplies deemed sufficient to meet community needs.
The Bali Saber Pangan Task Force also reminded business actors not to sell food commodities above the government-determined limits. If violations occur, they will be dealt with firmly in stages, starting from written warnings to the revocation of business licences.
Through these inspections, it is hoped that price affordability, food quality assurance, and food availability will be achieved, while also ensuring stock security so that the community can obtain the 14 bapokting at reasonable and accessible prices.
