Balikpapan boys nailed for hold-up
JAKARTA (JP): The City Police have arrested two young boys from Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, along with their local friend for allegedly holding up two local youngsters at the Tosari bus stop in front of the Kartika Plaza hotel, Central Jakarta.
The two suspects were identified as Febrian, 16, and Doddy Orlando, 18, both residents of Jl. Karang Jati in North Balikpapan. Their friend was identified as Subana, 24, a resident of Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta.
According to Capt. Syaiful Bd., head of the Operational Affairs of the On-the-Alert City Police squad, the incident began at around 11 p.m. Friday when the three youngsters wielded their sharp weapons at two schoolboys, Sofyan Hadi, 17, and Wahyu Hutabarat, 15, who were waiting for transport.
The two victims gave no resistance and surrendered their shoes, T-shirts, inexpensive watches and Rp 3,000 (US$1.36) in cash. (bsr)
