The Bali Police Department’s Clean Sweep Task Force (Satgas Saber) for Food conducted direct monitoring of food prices by visiting several distribution points, including traditional markets, modern retail outlets, and distributors, on Tuesday, 10 March 2026. This action was taken to ensure the stability of essential goods prices and prevent individuals from raising prices unfairly.

In the operation, the Food Task Force collaborated with the Bali Provincial Government to directly monitor several key commodities of concern to the public. The food items under scrutiny included rice, cooking oil, eggs, meat, garlic, and chilli.

The task force team visited three different locations: Kreneng Market, Bintang Supermarket, and Crystal distributor. At each location, officers not only checked the prices of basic foodstuffs but also engaged in dialogue with traders and residents to directly understand the price situation in the field.

Officers also issued warnings to traders to comply with government-set price regulations and refrain from hoarding or unfairly raising prices.

Based on the surveillance conducted at the three locations, the task force found no price increases in several essential commodities. Prices were assessed as remaining relatively stable with good supply availability.

Inspector Nengah Mantra, from the Reskrimsus unit of the Bali Police Department, stated that this monitoring activity represents part of the police’s commitment together with the government in maintaining food price stability among the community.

“We conduct this surveillance to ensure the prices of essential goods remain stable and no party exploits the situation by raising prices unfairly,” he said.

Mantra emphasised that should any violations of government-established regulations be found, his office would not hesitate to take firm action ranging from written warnings to enforcement measures in accordance with applicable regulations.

“If any party is proven to violate the rules, we will certainly take action according to procedure, starting from issuing written warnings to further steps in accordance with regulations,” he added.

The presence of the Food Task Force in the field also received appreciation from the community. Several residents said they felt assisted by the surveillance as it could ensure basic food prices remain controlled.

Through this activity, it is hoped that food price stability in Bali will be maintained so that the community can meet their daily needs at fair and affordable prices.
