Bali Police have designated six foreign nationals (WNA) as suspects in a case involving the alleged abduction and murder of a Ukrainian citizen with the initials IK. The police have also requested the issuance of a red notice through Interpol after several suspects fled overseas.

Bali Police Public Relations Head Kombes Pol Ariasandy stated that the abduction occurred in the Jimbaran Road area, South Kuta, Badung Regency, on Sunday (15 February 2026) at approximately 22:20 WITA.

“Based on evidence and witness statements that have been examined, police have designated six suspects: RM, VK, AS, VN, SM, and DH. All are male and foreign nationals. We have established their status as suspects. Today we are coordinating with the Polri International Division to issue a Wanted Persons List (DPO) and Red Notice to Interpol to track their whereabouts,” Ariasandy stated in Denpasar on Saturday (26 February).

Immigration crossing data shows four suspects have fled to Malaysia via Ngurah Rai International Airport, whilst two others are believed to remain in Indonesia.

The investigation began from tracking a rental Avanza vehicle and two motorcycles recorded on closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras near the victim’s accommodation in Badung extending to the Tabanan area. The vehicle was rented by a Nigerian national with the initials C using a false passport.

Police subsequently arrested C in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) on Monday (23 February 2026). During interrogation, C claimed he was only asked to rent the vehicle for compensation of 6 million rupiah and was unaware the vehicle would be used for criminal purposes.

“Regarding C’s status, we are still coordinating with the prosecution office concerning the appropriate charges to be brought. However, it was through this lead that we traced the perpetrators and discovered a villa in Tabanan which became the location of the victim’s viral video recording,” Ariasandy explained.

From GPS tracking of the rental vehicle, police discovered a villa in Tabanan with blood stains identical to blood samples found inside the vehicle.

To date, victim IK has not been located. According to immigration data, the victim is confirmed not to have left Indonesian territory.

Meanwhile, the discovery of human body parts at Wos River mouth, Ketewel Beach, Gianyar Regency on Thursday (26 February 2026) has sparked speculation regarding IK’s disappearance. However, police have affirmed that both cases remain handled separately.

“We are still in the process of identifying whose body parts were found in Gianyar. Police are taking DNA samples from these remains to be matched, including with DNA samples from IK’s parents, to confirm identity,” said Ariasandy.

The body parts discovered include the head, chest, shoulder, arm, and thigh. All have been evacuated to Prof. Ngoerah General Hospital in Denpasar for forensic identification procedures.

Police have also appealed to the public who have lost family members to report immediately to assist the identification process.

For their actions, the six suspects face Article 450 of the new Criminal Code with a maximum prison sentence of 12 years, plus potential multiple charges relating to deprivation of liberty, serious assault, and theft with violence.
