The investigation into the alleged abduction of a Ukrainian national (initials IK, aged 28) in Bali has entered a new phase. Bali Police have designated six foreign nationals as suspects and are coordinating with Interpol to issue a wanted persons list and red notice.

The Chief of the Bali Police Public Relations Division, Senior Commissioner Ariasandy, revealed that the case breakthrough originated from investigations by Bali Police and Denpasar Police Resort officers who detected suspicious vehicles.

“From the results of our investigations, we were able to detect suspicious vehicles consisting of one four-wheeled vehicle (Avanza) and two two-wheeled vehicles. During the initial investigation, the vehicle was found to have been rented by a foreign national with the initials C,” said Ariasandy when met on Friday, 27 February 2026.

Police subsequently tracked down the vehicle renter. The suspect is believed to have rented the vehicle using a forged passport under instructions from another party. The individual was reportedly found in the West Nusa Tenggara region and was apprehended on Monday, 23 February.

Based on CCTV and GPS tracking on the vehicle, the car had stopped at a villa in the Tabanan area. This location is suspected to be where the victim recorded a live video that was previously circulated on social media.

“From the CCTV findings and GPS data from the vehicle, we discovered it had stopped at a villa in the Tabanan area. We inspected the villa and suspect it is where the victim released the live video. Looking at the location based on the video circulated by the perpetrators, the place appears to match,” he said.

At the villa location, police discovered blood traces. Similar findings were also discovered inside the rented Avanza vehicle.

“We found blood traces at that location, which we collected and identified. We also found blood traces in the Avanza vehicle, and the blood from both the vehicle and the villa were the same,” Ariasandy explained.

From the investigation’s development, police identified six foreign nationals suspected of being involved in or aware of the abduction incident. The six are identified by the initials RM, BK, AS, VN, SM, and DH.

“We have elevated these six foreign nationals to suspect status. We will also coordinate today to issue a wanted persons list and red notice to Interpol police to locate these individuals,” he affirmed.

Police have detected that several suspects have left Indonesia through I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport. However, approximately two individuals are believed to remain within the country.

“We have detected that several have already left Indonesia. There are approximately two people still in Indonesia,” said Ariasandy.

Based on CCTV recordings, including electronic traffic enforcement camera (ETLE) footage, the suspects are believed to know one another and were seen travelling in the same vehicle.

“In the vehicle, we see several people beside the driver, and some of the individuals I mentioned were there, so we suspect them as either the perpetrators or as people who were aware of the abduction incident,” he said.

To date, investigators continue to pursue the suspects located abroad and are examining each individual’s role in the alleged abduction of the Ukrainian national.

Ariasandy stressed that since the abduction report was received, police immediately began investigations. He confirmed that the entire case resolution process is the result of investigative work that culminated in the establishment of six suspects.
