The Bali Provincial PKK Movement (Tim Penggerak PKK) executed the “Shop and Share” People’s Market activity at Niti Mandala Renon Field in Denpasar from Friday, 13 March 2026. The initiative involved 138 micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) operators from various districts and cities across Bali, with free exhibition stalls provided to all participants.

A diverse range of products were offered at the people’s market, including handicrafts, clothing, textiles, culinary items, processed food products, meat, fish, vegetables, fruit, kitchen ingredients, plants and flowers. Beyond showcasing MSME products, the activity also provided public services including Digital Identity (IKD), food safety services, and healthcare for the community.

Putri Suastini Koster, Chairperson of the Bali Provincial PKK Movement, explained that the “Shop and Share” People’s Market was planned to be conducted regularly every month with rotating locations across all districts and cities in Bali. “We will conduct this people’s market monthly, rotating across all districts and cities in Bali. Besides providing space for MSME operators to market their products, this activity is also expected to strengthen synergy and collaboration between the Bali Provincial TP PKK and TP PKK offices at district and city levels throughout Bali,” she stated.

She added that all MSMEs involved had undergone a curation process by the Provincial Industry and Trade Office as well as the Cooperatives and SMEs Office of the Bali Provincial Government, whilst receiving direct guidance regarding product quality being marketed.

According to her, providing free stalls to MSME operators was expected to encourage broader participation whilst strengthening local economic circulation.

Beyond supporting MSME empowerment, the activity emphasised the application of environmentally friendly principles. Traders were requested to avoid using single-use plastics, plastic straws and styrofoam in accordance with Bali Governor Regulation Number 97 of 2018 concerning Restrictions on Single-Use Plastic Waste Generation. Community members shopping were also urged to bring their own shopping bags.

The “Shop and Share” People’s Market has been conducted since the beginning of Putri Koster’s leadership period. However, for this implementation, she stressed that the activity would not burden district and city level PKK offices.

“We have asked local governments and district and city level TP PKK offices to bring MSME operators from their regions, whilst the provision of tents and other facilities remains the responsibility of the Bali Provincial TP PKK,” she said.

On the occasion, the Bali Provincial TP PKK also distributed assistance to 200 underprivileged community members from Badung Regency and Denpasar City. Assistance provided comprised 10 kilogrammes of rice, two crates of eggs, two litres of cooking oil, and one package of shopping bags containing basic necessities.

The People’s Market activity received positive response from the community. From morning until midday, traders’ tents appeared busy with visitors. Several traders even had to restock their merchandise as items sold out rapidly due to visitor demand.
