Patrols targeted high-risk points in the operational areas of the Ngurah Rai, Denpasar, and Singaraja Immigration Offices. The focus of the patrols included monitoring foreign nationals who have exceeded their stay permits (overstay), providing false data to obtain visas, and protecting stay permits for illegal activities such as working without permission, involvement in fictitious investments, as well as other disturbances to security and public protection,” said the Head of the Bali Regional Office of the Directorate General (Dirjen) of Immigration, Felucia Sengky Ratna, in her statement on Tuesday (5/5/2026). Felucia revealed that this effort is one form of protection for the prestige of tourism in Bali Province. These patrols, she said, represent the Bali Immigration’s commitment to ensuring that only foreigners who provide benefits and respect local values are permitted to stay and reside. “The presence of foreigners working illegally must be addressed to maintain the economic ecosystem of local residents and a healthy investment climate,” said Felucia. She stated that monitoring is carried out comprehensively to maintain security stability. “Field officers have been instructed to act persuasively, prioritising professionalism. The Bali Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration will fully support the Directorate General of Immigration’s policies for law enforcement against foreign nationals who commit immigration violations,” she added. Currently, the foreign nationals apprehended are undergoing examination by immigration investigators. Severe administrative sanctions have been prepared, ranging from detection, deportation, to re-entry bans to Indonesian territory for a certain period. “We urge the public to remain proactive in reporting any suspicious activities of foreigners through official complaint channels to maintain security and collective comfort for the people of Bali,” said Felucia. The Director General of Immigration, Hendarsam Marantoko, warned all foreigners in Indonesian territory, particularly in Bali Province. Hendarsam emphasised that there will be no tolerance for foreigners proven to commit immigration violations that disrupt national stability. “I have ordered all ranks to act firmly without compromise. We will welcome quality foreign tourists and investors, but for those who disregard Indonesian law, there are only two choices: comply with our rules or leave Indonesian territory immediately,” explained Hendarsam. Furthermore, Hendarsam views Bali as Indonesia’s showcase to the world, reflecting the nation’s dignity. He stressed that he will not allow foreign elements to damage the social or economic order of the local community. “This is certainly in line with the spirit of Immigration for the People that we uphold,” he said. Hendarsam also stated that the monitoring carried out by the Directorate General of Immigration is becoming stricter through the integration of digital data and massive field patrols across Indonesia. Meanwhile, the Director of Immigration Supervision and Enforcement, Yuldi Yusman, affirmed his unit’s commitment to strengthening law enforcement operations in the field. “We continue to strengthen the supervision and enforcement functions to detect potential violations as early as possible. This crackdown is concrete evidence that the Directorate of Immigration Supervision and Enforcement provides no room for foreign nationals who violate the law and disrupt order,” said Yuldi.
