The Ngurah Rai Immigration Office in Badung Regency, Bali, intercepted two foreign nationals (WNAs) suspected of creating explicit video content as they attempted to flee to Thailand via Ngurah Rai International Airport.

“This demonstrates the vigilance and attentiveness of our field officers at the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office,” said Bugie Kurniawan, Head of the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, in Jimbaran, Badung, on Tuesday.

The two individuals were a French woman with initials MMJ and a 24-year-old Italian man with initials NBS. They were intercepted during immigration processing at the international departures terminal of Ngurah Rai International Airport before boarding their flight to Thailand.

The detention followed an intelligence investigation into MMJ’s movements on 13 March. The 23-year-old woman had advanced her scheduled departure, originally set for 14 March to Paris via Singapore, to 13 March to Paris via Thailand. Immigration intelligence officers traced her social media activity and found that the suspect had posted photographs suggesting she was already in Phuket, Thailand.

Just before boarding the aircraft in the international departures area, immigration officers conducted an in-depth examination of MMJ and her associate NBS, who played the role of an online motorcycle taxi driver in the explicit video.

The obscene video featuring MMJ had previously gone viral on social media, depicting inappropriate content involving a man posing as an online taxi driver, a role performed by NBS.

During the investigation, Badung Police also arrested another foreign national, a 26-year-old French man with initials ERB. ERB is suspected of involvement as MMJ’s manager and as the individual who uploaded the explicit video to an adult content platform.

The Ngurah Rai Immigration Office has now referred the case of these three foreign nationals to law enforcement authorities for further investigation. Following a final legal determination, immigration authorities will take administrative action to deport all three individuals from Indonesia.
