Bali Airport announces phased resumption of Dubai-route flights
Denpasar, Friday — Bali’s I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport announced that Emirates’ international services on the Dubai route would resume operations in a phased manner after Dubai International Airport gradually reopened. “We can inform you that Emirates has redeployed one aircraft that had remained overnight at I Gusti Ngurah Rai since 28 February,” said Gede Eka Sandi Asmadi, Head of the Communications and Legal Division of I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport. In Denpasar, on Friday, Eka Sandi said the flight was EK369, which departed for Dubai (DBX) on Thursday (5 March) at 00:42 WITA, using an Airbus A380. This flight marks Emirates’ first service from Denpasar to Dubai since airspace closures and the Middle East conflict between the US-Israel and Iran. The positive news continued as international arrivals from Dubai to Denpasar have also resumed. “As of this afternoon, I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport welcomed Emirates flight EK368 from Dubai, operated on an Airbus A380, which landed in Bali at 16:30 WITA,” Eka Sandi said. He stressed that the airport authorities are continuing to coordinate closely with the affected airlines to monitor current operations, as not all Middle East international flights have reopened. Since 28 March 2026, there have been 64 international flight cancellations, comprising 34 departures and 30 arrivals. The flights affected include Qatar Airways on the Doha-Denpasar/Denpasar-Doha route, Emirates on the Dubai-Denpasar/Denpasar-Dubai route, and Etihad on the Abu Dhabi-Denpasar/Denpasar-Abu Dhabi route. The cancellations affected 8,187 passengers departing from I Gusti Ngurah Rai. Nevertheless, Eka Sandi assured that all affected passengers had been treated in accordance with each airline’s policy. I Gusti Ngurah Rai has also prepared for aircraft parking arrangements for flights impacted by the disruptions, now allocated for four aircraft from three airlines. “We have also provided a dedicated help desk area for airlines and are coordinating with the Immigration Office to provide immigration counters for Emergency Stay Permits (ITKT) for affected passengers,” he said. The help desk and immigration counters are located on Level 2 of the International Departure Terminal. The airport authorities urged prospective passengers to continue communicating with their airlines for updated flight schedules.
