Bakom Head: 1,738 SPPG Units Suspended for Failing to Meet Standards
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Head of the Government Communication Agency (Bakom) of the Republic of Indonesia, Muhammad Qodari, revealed that 1,738 Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG) have had their operations suspended because they do not meet standards.
This is based on data received by the Government Communication Agency from the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) as of 12 May 2026.
“Based on the data as of 12 May 2026, there are 1,738 SPPG that have been temporarily suspended because they do not meet standards,” Qodari stated during a press conference at the Bakom RI Office in Gambir, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday (13/5/2026).
Throughout 2026, the number of complaints received has reached 3,615.
The government stated that it will continue to make periodic improvements to the governance of the programme as a form of accountability for the use of state budget funds.
“(The number of beneficiaries) from a total target of 82.9 million recipients,” Qodari explained.
According to Qodari, the MBG programme is being implemented on a large scale, so its supervision is still being continuously improved.
The government, he said, is now focusing on fixing the programme’s governance, starting from menu preparation, supervision of SPPG partners, food hygiene standards, to the distribution of meals to beneficiaries.
The MBG programme targets students from early childhood education to high school, students in Islamic boarding schools, pregnant mothers, breastfeeding mothers, and toddlers throughout Indonesia.
“The government is committed to strengthening the MBG governance. The strengthening is carried out from upstream to downstream,” he emphasised.
Therefore, the government is still conducting evaluations of various issues that have arisen in the field.
According to him, there are three things that are now the government’s focus in implementing MBG, namely the accuracy of targeting beneficiaries, food quality, and supervision of SPPG.
