Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Bahlil Lahadalia, stated that future adjustments to non-subsidised fuel prices in the next phase will be influenced by developments in global oil prices. “We will see the adjustment. If the price (of global oil) falls, then (non-subsidised fuel prices) won’t rise. But if the price remains like this, then there will certainly be an adjustment,” said Bahlil at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources in Jakarta on Monday, 20 April 2026. He acknowledged that the first phase adjustment of non-subsidised fuel prices took place on 18 April 2026, when Pertamina implemented new prices for non-subsidised fuels including Pertamax Turbo, Pertamina Dex, and Dexlite. Prices for Pertamax Turbo rose from Rp 13,100 per litre to Rp 19,400 per litre, Dexlite from Rp 14,200 per litre to Rp 23,600 per litre, and Pertamina Dex from Rp 14,500 per litre to Rp 23,900 per litre. Nevertheless, Bahlil said that the government is still maintaining the price of non-subsidised RON 92 fuel or Pertamax at Rp 12,300 per litre and Pertamax Green at Rp 12,900 per litre. A similar approach is being taken with subsidised fuel prices, where Pertalite remains at Rp 10,000 per litre and Biosolar at Rp 6,800 per litre. “Because what the state can guarantee is subsidised fuel. So if the subsidised fuel price reaches the average ICP (Indonesian Crude Price) of US$100 (per barrel), it won’t rise,” said Bahlil. He explained that the current average ICP from 1 January to 20 April 2026 is around US$76 per barrel. “Yesterday it was US$77 (per barrel). But (global oil prices) once rose to US$105–US$106 (per barrel). Now it has fallen, already below US$100 (per barrel),” stated Bahlil. “Thus, subsidised fuel prices like Pertalite and Biosolar will not rise until the end of 2026,” he added.
