Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia has assured that Indonesia has obtained replacements for oil imports and also liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) from sources previously obtained through the Middle East. Initially, Bahlil emphasised that, at its core, the reserves of fuels such as diesel, petrol, including avtur, and also LPG are above the national minimum standard. “This means that even though we know the geopolitical tensions are unresolved and their end is uncertain, and some other countries have implemented efficiency policies, we are grateful for the president’s guidance that all our fuel reserves are above the national minimum standard,” Bahlil stressed during a press conference on Wednesday (31/3/2026). In light of this, Bahlil affirmed that the government also guarantees that supplies of fuels and LPG are in a safe condition. Previously, Indonesia imported 20% of both oil and LPG from the Middle East, but replacements have now been secured. “When the Middle East tensions arose, we replaced the supplies from the Middle East. Alhamdulillah, we have obtained them; there is no doubt anymore. We have secured them,” Bahlil stressed.
