Badung Civil Police Tighten Checks on Migrant Arrivals at Mengwi Terminal
The Civil Police Unit (Satpol PP) of Badung Regency will tighten inspections of migrant residents (duktang) at Mengwi Type A Terminal in Badung, Bali. This measure is intended to prevent the entry of residents without proper identification and clear purpose ahead of security operations for Eid al-Fitr and Nyepi celebrations.
The Head of Badung Satpol PP, I Gusti Agung Ketut Suryanegara, emphasised that a special team has been mobilised to scrutinise the identification of every passenger arriving at Mengwi Terminal. Security operations are being conducted as part of Operation Ketupat Agung concerning Eid and Nyepi from 13-25 March 2026.
“For inspections of migrant residents starting from arrivals through Mengwi Terminal from 24 to 26 March 2026,” Suryanegara stated on Thursday (12/3/2026).
Suryanegara explained that inspections will not be limited to entry points into Badung Regency. Satpol PP will also sweep residential areas across six districts in Badung to ensure all migrants possess proper identification documents and clear purposes for residence.
According to Suryanegara, officers will conduct inspections in each village and administrative unit in Badung, particularly areas with high concentrations of migrant populations. He emphasised that every migrant is required to carry an Identity Card (KTP) and have a sponsor guaranteeing their stay in the area.
“As usual, we will conduct identity card inspections. If they do not carry a KTP or have no sponsor, they will be sent back to their home region,” Suryanegara asserted.
Inspections of migrant residents at Mengwi Terminal will involve dozens of personnel divided into several teams. Badung Satpol PP is also coordinating with relevant authorities in Denpasar City to monitor entry points at Benoa Port, which also serves as an arrival point for people from outside Bali.
