Badung Civil Police Seal Unlicensed Entertainment Venue in Pererenan
The Civil Police Unit for Public Order (Satpol PP) of Badung Regency has shut down operations of a nightlife entertainment venue in Pererenan Village, Mengwi District, Badung, Bali. The establishment, which operated as a restaurant, bar, and nightclub, was sealed for failing to obtain proper official authorisation.
“In keeping with our pledge, the sealing was carried out today with the placement of prohibition notices. We placed them directly at the entrance and beside the building,” said I Gusti Agung Ketut Suryanegara, Head of the Badung Regency Civil Police, on Friday (13 March 2026).
Officers placed prohibition notices at the building’s access points. According to Suryanegara, the enforcement action proceeded without any representative from the entertainment venue’s management being present.
“The bottom line is that management lacks authorisation. Therefore we took firm action to close it temporarily,” Suryanegara stated firmly.
The closure follows up on a legal management review conducted by Satpol PP investigators on Wednesday (11 March). The review results showed that the operators possessed only evidence of submission to the Integrated Electronic Business Licensing System (OSS), which had not been validated as an operational permit.
“The OSS is merely evidence for licensing requirements; it has no connection to operational approval. Yet they proceeded to conduct activities at the site,” Suryanegara added.
The Badung Civil Police warned entertainment venue operators against attempting to remove the seal or operate clandestinely. Suryanegara threatened permanent closure of the business if management violated the prohibition notice.
“If we discover a breach, it goes directly to the permanent sealing stage. There will be no further warning letters, but immediate sealing with Civil Police Line,” he concluded.
