Entrepreneur and social figure Jusuf Hamka, commonly known as Babah Alun, distributed Hari Raya assistance to hundreds of informal sector workers in Jakarta. Together with Artha Graha Peduli, aid was provided to 500 beneficiaries comprising online motorcycle taxi (ojol) drivers and railway station porters in the form of basic provisions packages and token gifts.

The assistance distribution took place on Friday, 13 March 2026 at two separate locations in Jakarta. The first distribution was conducted at the Babah Alun Desari Mosque area in Cilandak–Andara, South Jakarta, benefiting 300 online motorcycle taxi drivers. The drivers received basic provisions packages and token gifts as support ahead of Hari Raya.

On this occasion, Babah Alun expressed that the activity represents attention to informal sector workers who have made significant contributions to community life.

“Please pray to Allah that the President remains healthy, enjoys a long life, and continues to pay attention to our ojol friends and all Indonesian people so that their welfare improves. I am running this programme together with Artha Graha Peduli and with support from government colleagues. God willing, attention to our ojol friends will continue,” said Babah Alun.

He added that he wished to serve as a bridge between informal workers and various parties so that their aspirations receive greater attention.

“Until now I observed ojol friends and thought they had achieved sufficient prosperity. However, after witnessing conditions on the ground directly, it turns out they also need attention. Therefore, we are trying to ensure they receive greater support. God willing, I am merely a bridge,” he said.

Babah Alun also conveyed information about a government programme that opens opportunities for young people to gain work experience through an internship scheme initiated by the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs.

“Currently there is an internship programme offering opportunities for secondary and university graduates to gain work experience at various government offices for several months. With this experience, they have better preparation for applying for jobs in future,” he said.

The second assistance distribution took place in the evening, around 8.00 pm, in the Pasar Senen Station area, Central Jakarta. On this occasion, 200 porters who assist daily passenger mobility at the station also received basic provisions packages and token gifts as appreciation for their hard work.

One online motorcycle taxi driver who received the aid expressed being moved by the attention given to field workers.

“I am very moved because in this era there are still those who care about us. May Mr Alun, Mr President, Artha Graha Peduli, and all parties involved be given health, longevity, and smooth livelihood,” he said.

Through this activity, it is hoped that the aid provided can help ease the needs of informal sector workers ahead of Hari Raya, whilst strengthening the spirit of care and unity within the community.
