Jakarta - The Indonesian National Entrepreneurs Alliance (AWKI) has warned the Indonesian government about potential impacts from the joint US-Israel military attack on Iran regarding the organisation of Hajj and Umrah pilgrimages this year.

“There is a possibility that Umrah and Hajj departures could be delayed, and this will bring consequences or impacts upon the government,” said AWKI Board of Patrons member Yudhiawan Wibisono in a statement confirmed in Jakarta on Sunday.

Beyond this, he continued, the conflict could also affect Indonesia’s national economy since war can result in loss of life, wealth and property.

The Inspector General of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Yudhiawan Wibisono, stressed that Indonesia, as a peace-loving nation, condemns all forms of warfare.

Another AWKI Board of Patrons member, retired Major General Rido Hermawan of the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI), viewed the US-Israel attack on Iran as potentially affecting critical global energy routes, namely the Strait of Hormuz.

“We all know that the Strait of Hormuz is currently blocked and controlled by Iran,” he said.

“This will also affect us, particularly in the energy sector,” he added.

Therefore, he urged the government to implement energy conservation programmes and strengthen food security.

Meanwhile, AWKI Chairman Robertus Rani Lopiga Taher emphasised the importance of strengthening Pancasila ideology among the people, including online motorcycle taxi drivers.

“Yes, as we mentioned before, Pancasila must always be present. In any case, Pancasila must be embedded in all of us,” he said.

Previously, Israel launched an attack against Iran on 28 February 2026. On a separate occasion, US President Donald Trump stated that the US military had begun major combat operations in Iran. One of the joint US-Israel attacks involved seven missiles striking Tehran near the residence of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that President Prabowo Subianto was ready to depart for Iran to facilitate dialogue to restore conducive security conditions.

On 1 March 2026, the Iranian government confirmed the death of Ali Khamenei in the attack and declared a 40-day mourning period with a one-week work suspension.
