Awards for businessmen

JAKARTA (JP): President Soeharto will present the Upakarti
industrial awards on Jan. 8 to 63 businessmen and local
administration officials who have contributed greatly to
developing small enterprises and craftsmanship.

Minister of Industry and Trade Tunky Ariwibowo told the press
yesterday that the award recipients this year will include nine
regents and mayors.

The 44 businessmen to receive the award are selected from 238
nominees, while the nine officials are out of 24 nominees.

The government has presented the Upakarti annually since 1985.
