West Java Police have urged holidaymakers to avoid the peak return flow on 24 March. This appeal is intended to anticipate vehicle density during the peak of the 1447 Hijriah Lebaran return flow. West Java Police Chief Irjen Pol Rudi Setiawan stated that the peak return flow is predicted to occur on 24 March 2026. Additionally, potential vehicle density is forecasted for 28 to 29 March. “We invite West Java residents to wisely schedule their return journey times, so as not to concentrate on 24 March, which is predicted to be the peak of congestion,” he said, quoted on Monday (23/3/2026). He said the public is urged to take advantage of the work-from-anywhere policy that remains in effect until 28 March, allowing the return flow journey to proceed smoothly. The West Java Police Chief called on all residents to plan their journeys well, comply with instructions from officers in the field, and prioritise safety during the 2026 Lebaran return flow journey. He stated that on the first day of Eid, there was an increase in vehicle flow of up to 30 percent in several tourist spots. This condition is predicted to continue. “Several tourist locations are a special focus for police apparatus due to the high level of visits, including the Puncak area covering Taman Safari, Lembang, Ciwidey, to Pangandaran Beach,” he said. West Java Police Traffic Director Kombes Pol Raydian Kokrosono said that to alleviate potential congestion, West Java Police are implementing several strategies. In addition to placing personnel at vulnerable points, mobile anti-congestion teams are also on standby. He urged return travellers heading back to Jakarta to prepare themselves well, from ensuring health conditions to vehicle worthiness such as brakes, lights, tyres, and emergency equipment like jacks.
