Avoid Senayan Today: Four Events Taking Place at Once, Traffic Disruption Expected
The public has been urged to avoid several roads around Senayan, particularly the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) complex in Jakarta, because several large-scale events are being held there at the same time.
A total of four events are taking place at Indonesia’s largest sports complex on Saturday (24 October), ranging from a running festival and a music concert to a fan meeting with a Korean actor.
Jakarta’s Transportation Agency has announced traffic diversions for 24–25 October due to the Jakarta Running Festival 2026.
To avoid congestion around GBK and Senayan, motorists may consider several alternative routes previously used when major events have been held in the area.
Those travelling from Pancoran or Cawang to Blok M can take Jalan HR Rasuna Said, Kapten Tendean, Wolter Monginsidi and Trunojoyo.
Drivers heading from Pancoran to Slipi may consider taking HR Rasuna Said, Prof. Dr. Satrio, KH Mas Mansyur and Pejompongan.
Some Transjakarta services will also have adjusted routes and operating hours on 24–25 October. On Saturday (24 October), several routes will begin operating only at 9am WIB, including:
• Route 1B: Palmerah Station–Dukuh Atas Transport Hub.
• Route 1F: Palmerah Station–Bundaran Senayan.
• Route 1P: Senen–Blok M.
• Routes 6A and 6B: Ragunan–City Hall via Kuningan and Semanggi.
• Route 8N: Kebayoran–Petamburan via Asia Afrika.
• Route 9C: Pinang Ranti–Bundaran Senayan.
• Route 9D: Pasar Minggu–Tanah Abang.
Participants and visitors have also been encouraged to use public transport, including Transjakarta, the MRT, LRT and commuter rail (KRL), to reduce private vehicle congestion around GBK.
The following events are scheduled to take place in the area on Saturday (24 October 2026).
- Jakarta Running Festival 2026
The Jakarta Running Festival runs from 22 to 25 October 2026. On Saturday (24 October), the 21.097-kilometre half-marathon starts at 4.30am WIB, followed by the 5K at 5.15am.
The Race Expo at Istora Senayan is also running from 22 to 25 October. The exhibition features 130 brands, 49 local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and around 250 communities.
- BSI International Expo 2026
The BSI International Expo runs from 23 to 25 October 2026 at the Jakarta International Convention Center (JICC) in Senayan.
Saturday’s programme includes a talk show with Dr Aisah Dahlan from 11.30am to 12.30pm WIB; a fashion show featuring the Indonesian Fashion Chamber, Shireen Sungkar and Chef Arnold from 1pm to 1.45pm; and a performance by the band Wali from 8pm to 9pm.
- YE Live in Jakarta concert
US singer YE, formerly known as Kanye West, is due to perform at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium on Saturday (24 October).
According to the Ministry of Creative Economy’s schedule, the event is set to run from 4pm until midnight WIB. The concert will feature a 360-degree stage and immersive visual effects.
- Kim Bum fan meeting
South Korean actor Kim Bum is also scheduled to hold a fan meeting, titled PAGE∞: Debut 20th Anniversary Tour in Jakarta, on Saturday (24 October).
The event will take place at Tennis Indoor Senayan from 6.30pm to 10pm WIB. It forms part of celebrations marking 20 years since Kim Bum’s debut in the entertainment industry.
