Austria explores opportunities for sustainable development collaboration in IKN
Nusantara (ANTARA) – A representative of the Austrian Embassy explored opportunities for sustainable development collaboration in Nusantara’s capital, Ibu Kota Nusantara (IKN), spanning infrastructure, healthcare, education, and potential economic development that remains open. ‘During a direct visit to IKN yesterday, the Austrian delegation discussed with us various cooperation potentials that can be developed in step with the massive construction of Nusantara,’ said Basuki Hadimuljono, Head of the IKN Authority, in Nusantara, on Thursday. He explained that Nusantara’s ongoing development continues to open wide scope for collaboration from partners at local, national, and international levels, because it is a city of the future for the world. Nusantara’s development will not only introduce a new administrative centre but will also build a complete city ecosystem, ranging from infrastructure, healthcare, education, to sustainable economic development. ‘Therefore, we are open to international collaborations that can enrich Nusantara’s development. Partners from various countries are welcome to discuss and collaborate across different development fields,’ he said. Earlier, Basuki Hadimuljono welcomed the arrival of the Austrian Embassy’s Chargé d’Affaires ad interim, Michael Wislocki, together with Austrian Commercial Counselor Sigmund Nemeti at the IKN Authority City Hall Office on Wednesday (4 March). On that occasion Michael Wislocki said the visit offered Austria the opportunity to see directly the progress of Nusantara’s development, and to identify various cooperation potentials that can be developed between the two countries. ‘At present we are continually following the progress of development in IKN. We are particularly interested as a diplomatic representative to help create a modern and sustainable forest city in Indonesia,’ said Michael. Austria, as a technology-driven country, he continued, has various offerings for future cooperation projects, including aspects related to smart city development through technological innovation, urban transport, healthcare, and strengthening the education and training ecosystem for human resource development. Through this visit, the IKN Authority and the Austrian Embassy representatives hope to strengthen communication and open further cooperation opportunities between Indonesia and Austria, especially in supporting the development of IKN as a sustainable, inclusive, and globally competitive city.
