A waste processing machine from Australia arrived in Klungkung, Bali, on Wednesday (22/4/2026). The pyrolysis technology waste processing machine is planned to be used at the Local Waste Processing Site (TOSS) Centre, Karangdadi Hamlet, Kusamba Village, Dawan Subdistrict. However, the machine, which is claimed to be capable of processing up to eight tonnes of waste per hour, cannot yet enter the TOSS Centre. The reason is that the machine was transported using a container truck. Narrow roads, trees, and stretches of electricity cables pose obstacles for the large trucks to enter the TOSS Centre. Observations by detikBali until Thursday (23/4/2026) around 11.20 WITA showed the container truck still parked at the gate of the Bali Cultural Centre (PKB) area. The Klungkung Regency Government (Pemkab) is currently arranging for the machine to enter the TOSS Centre. “At the moment, we are cleaning the area at the TOSS centre. The access road has already been arranged,” said the Head of the Environmental and Land Agency (DLHP) of Klungkung, Dewa Komang Aswin, to detikBali. “Everything has been prepared now. This is preparation for entry with escort,” Aswin explained. In total, there will be three waste processing machines arriving in Klungkung with a total of 12 trucks. Consequently, there are still five container trucks that have not arrived. “From the company, the information is that there will be 5 more trucks next week,” Aswin clarified. Meanwhile, according to several container truck drivers, the road to the TOSS Centre is indeed too narrow for large vehicles that are about 15 metres long and up to 5 metres high. “We’re afraid of the power lines and trees,” said one driver who declined to be named.
