Attorney General's Office: Prosecutors to Study Acquittal Verdict for Three Defendants in Sritex Case First
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Attorney General’s Office (AGO) has stated that public prosecutors (JPU) will first study the acquittal verdict for three defendants in the alleged corruption case concerning the provision of credit facilities to PT Sritex before taking further legal steps. The three defendants are former Head of the Corporate and Commercial Division of PT Bank BJB Dicky Syahbandinata, former President Director of PT Bank BJB Yuddy Renaldi, and former President Director of Bank Jateng Supriyatno. “The JPU will first study the contents of the verdict in full, and it will later serve as a consideration for the JPU in taking a stance in accordance with the provisions,” said the Head of the Legal Information Centre (Kapuspenkum) of the AGO, Anang Supriatna, in Jakarta on Friday. He also stated that the JPU respects and appreciates the acquittal verdict handed down by the Semarang Corruption Court in Central Java against the three defendants. Previously, the Semarang Corruption Court in Central Java issued an acquittal verdict for former Head of the Corporate and Commercial Division of Bank BJB Dicky Syahbandinata, former President Director of Bank BJB Yuddy Renaldi, and former President Director of Bank Jateng Supriyatno. In the judges’ considerations regarding Dicky Syahbandinata, the judges stated that Dicky, as the head of the credit division, was not proven to have committed subjective wrongdoing, either intentionally or through negligence. Additionally, the defendant was never aware of the financial report manipulations carried out by PT Sritex. Then, in the judges’ considerations regarding Yuddy Renaldi, the judges opined that there was never any order, pressure, or intervention from Yuddy to process PT Sritex’s credit application. Furthermore, the judges stated that Yuddy was never aware of the financial report manipulations carried out by PT Sritex. Previously, the JPU had demanded a 10-year prison sentence for Yuddy in the case. Finally, in the judges’ considerations regarding Supriyatno, the judges stated that the defendant was not proven to have intervened to split PT Sritex’s credit application into two. Additionally, Supriyatno was not proven to have pressured the credit analysis team or the Bank Jateng Compliance Division in the credit application. Previously, the JPU had demanded a 10-year prison sentence for Supriyatno.
