Attorney General's Office Probes Evidence in West Kalimantan Bauxite IUP Case, Five Locations Raided
Jakarta, Kompas.com - The Attorney General’s Office raided five locations in Jakarta and Pontianak, West Kalimantan, to gather evidence in a case of alleged corruption in the governance of mining business permits (IUP) for the bauxite operation of PT Quality Sukses Sejahtera (QSS) for the 2017–2025 period, in which Sudianto alias Aseng is the suspect.
“Raid operations are still ongoing at several locations in West Kalimantan and Jakarta,” said Syarief Sulaeman Nahdi, Director of Investigations at the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Dirdik Jampidsus).
“Three locations in Jakarta and two in Pontianak,” he added.
“According to Syarief, the locations include houses and offices believed to be related to the case. To date, the searches are ongoing.”
“There are offices and there are houses. And up to now it is still ongoing,” he said.
“During the searches, investigators seized several documents and electronic evidence for the purposes of investigation.”
“What was seized are documents and especially electronic evidence that we secured,” Syarief said.
“His role is that the suspect carried out bauxite mining outside the granted IUP, and worked together with, of course, state organizers,” Syarief said.
“In this case, the suspect is charged under Article 603 and Article 604 of Indonesian Law No. 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code (KUHP).”
